In this video, we explore OpenCode, an open-source alternative to Codex CLI and Claude Code that works with any model: Codex by subscription, Claude by API, and I also cover open-source and local models. I demonstrate installation, configuration, and basic commands for a quick start. Next, we discuss skills—what they are, how to enable them, and why they're needed. We'll cover the planning mode, which allows the AI to build step-by-step scenarios before executing tasks, and then we'll look at execution and verify the results. I'll also demonstrate a useful diff viewer and execution control mechanisms—code reviews and other convenient features for process management. Finally, I'll launch a local model for offline operation and connect via an API, for example, to Claude.
