In this lesson we will look at what a float is
and how to declare a float in Java.

As you see on this image, the floating-point number
is represented by two types in Java, namely:
The float and the double.

The float data type uses 32 bits to store a
floating-point number in the IEEE 754 standard format.

It's range is from 1.4 x 10‐⁴⁵ to 3.4 x 10³⁸.
Note, ranges include only magnitude.
It could be positive or negative.

All real numbers that end with f or F are called float literals.

Floats can be written both in decimal number format
or Scientific notation.

The wapper class for the foat is Float.
