Control access to your AWS EC2 instances with precision!
In this tutorial, we'll guide you through the process of editing security groups in AWS, a crucial step in securing your instances from unauthorized access.

Step 1: Search up aws.amazon.com
Step 2: Click on Search, and search EC2
Step 3: Click on EC2
Step 4: Click on Instances from the menu on the left
Step 5: Select your instance
Step 6: Click on Security
Step 7: Scroll down until you see Security groups
Step 8: Click on the Security group id
Step 9: Scroll down and click "Edit inbound rules"
Step 10: If you want to delete a rule, click Delete next to the rule, If you want to add a port click "Add Rule"
Step 11: Enter the port number in Port range
Step 12: Select "Anywhere-IPv4" under source
Step 13: Once done with the changes scroll down and click "Save rules"
Note: Once you have added a new port you need to enter that same port in server.xml if you want to connect to that port
Step 14: Run the instance
Step 15: Copy the public ip address of the server
Step 16: Open MobaXTerm
Step 17: Click on "Sessions"
Step 18: Select SSH
Step 19: Paste the Public Ip in the Remote Host
Step 20: Click on specify username
Step 21: Enter your username (Prefferably ec2-user)
Step 22: Click "Advanced SSH settings"
Step 23: Select "Use private key"
Step 24: Click on the documents icon & Select your private key (.pem)
Step 25: Click "Ok" & "Accept"
Step 26: Cd in to opt directory, Tomcat, conf
Step 27: Vi into server.xml
Step 28: On line 71 "Connector port="8080" protocol="HTTP/1.1", change the port number to the desired number
Step 29: Click the "esc" key on the keyboard and Click the Shift key + ZZ
Step 30: Type "curl ipaddress:portNumber" to verify if its working
