Hello and welcome to Day 13 - Regular Expression Concept for Xpath and CSS
Lets start with when you will want to make use of xpath or css selector regular expressions
first scenario is when the attribute to the element or object i too long and it's the only attribute you have for that object then you could elect to use a regular expression xpath where you use a subset of the text of that attribute
second scenario is if your attribute for the element is dynamic so alphanumeric it has a high probability to change each time the page is refreshed so in this case again you might want to use regular expression xpath or css selector and make use of the sub set of the attribute that stays constant when page is refreshed
In the live example we did i this video we used the boots website and use regular expression xpath to enter text in email field and used css selector regular expression to enter password and use id locator to click on login button
In general it was a success but web page was slow and we had to correct our script a few times
