How To Make 3d Models with Python
This video shows how you can programmatically create 3d models using python code and output to a suitable format for 3d printing or to have CADCAM toolpath added for CNC manufacturing.
The code I show here allows me to make parametric 3D CAD models of 'LEG0' pieces.
I use the excellent cadquery package for Python and run it inside a Conda environment with Python 3.8 and read data from a CSV to pass as variables to create as many pieces of 'LEG0' as we have lines in CSV.
Each piece will be made with width and length supplied from each line of the CSV.
