How to create a Docker image for a Python web application.
Distributing an application in container format makes it extremely portable. In this video, we'll see how to do it for a Flask web application with Python.
With containerized applications, we can avoid the snowflake effect—that is, having our application run in a different environment each time, whether it's a development machine, a test machine, or a production environment.
Prerequisites:
Visual Studio Code with extensions for Python and Docker https://code.visualstudio.com/
Python 3 https://www.python.org/downloads/
Basic knowledge of Docker

After watching this video, you will be able to:
Create a simple Flask application
Create the Dockerfile for your application
Build the image from the Dockerfile and give it any name you like
Run your application in container format
At this point, the application is ready to be deployed, for example, via a Docker Hub. This way, other processes can use it to install it on various environments, even in production, in a completely automated manner.
