print vs. return in Python functions — what's the difference?
Many newcomers to Python don't understand the difference between the value that a function displays on the screen with "print" and its return value — that is, what we get back from a function when we invoke it. In this video, I illustrate the idea of a return value, compare it with printing, and show you why working in a notebook can sometimes make this distinction a bit harder to grasp.
