get the current selection

loop through each selected object
for obj in selection:
get the number of faces in the object
num_faces = cmds.polyEvaluate(obj, face=True)
select every n-th face in the object
for i in range(n - 1, num_faces, n):
cmds.select("{0}.f[{1}]".format(obj, i), add=True)
