Hi there! In this video I'll show you how to use the Intersect command. The Intersect command allows you to break lines where they cross, and it’s used very often.
Let’s draw two overlapping circles. To use the Intersect command, we first must select the lines to intersect. Let’s select the two circles like this. Now we can click the Intersect button. Notice the lines are now broken at the intersections and can be moved. For example we can make a new shape by removing the inner arcs. Let’s erase the lines. And draw the two circles again like this. But this time we’ll select just one circle. And apply the Intersect command. Notice now that the selected circle was split at the intersection, but the other circle was not.
The intersect command can be applied to circles, straight lines, arcs or splines. Note also that you can locate intersections without using the Intersect command.
For example, let’s delete the lines and draw the two circles again. We can draw a straight line to an intersection point using the snap-to-intersection feature like this.
