Java Tutorial 5: String PhoneNo splitting & formatting with NetBeans a Problem Solving
a very good evening in today's program tasks basically we're going to learn how to break a string in Java into various different parts okay so for example we have a small task available and this to us is that I write a program that does the extraction of attend to the telephone number to that number in a certain format that formula is that for example if you have this number given the first three digits basically represent your earlier code so you separate them and let that know that this is your area code this is your exchange number so the next three numbers are basically your exchange code and then actual seven eight nine zero is your last three four numbers are your actual number so from area code to exchange number to your original number so we take this four string and we break it into parts and identifying which part is which and then finally present the formatted string and in different way so the three main tasks that are to be done forming tasks where you have to be done here is that we take the string and then we break the string into area code exchange and the number three and then format that text according to the given value so we separate it so it's more readable in other words okay so how do we do that in order to do that basically we need to now use a function within our java called substring now substring is a function that allows us to break a string and extract a certain part of a string within our code
