Create / Explode / Collapse Grid | Cavalry Tutorial
In this video we’ll create a grid of shapes in Cavalry. Then use forge dynamics to blow it up. Or collapse it.
We’ll look at:
Creating a grid, which consists of both standard Cavalry shapes and custom vectors. And randomising the shapes and colours.
Exploding that grid. Or collapsing it.
Even though this is a pretty straightforward tutorial technically, there were a couple of things I bumped up against which I had to ask for help on.
One was transform controls when I was creating a bespoke vector shape.
Another was noticing physics errors with certain shapes. Chris at Cavalry showed me a workaround for that which I’m sharing here.
And there were a couple of things I figured out along the way.
Forge dynamics is a pro feature in Cavalry. I’m using version 2.0 for this tutorial. If you don’t have the pro version you can still open the file and play around with it, you just can’t save or render it.
