How To Get Started With MQTT In Python
MQTT is one of the most used protocols for the internet of things (IoT). But it can sometimes be tricky to get a client up and running in Python (particularly when the broker requires you to provide credentials).
In this video we create a simple Python script for connecting to a HiveMQ MQTT broker in the cloud. The credentials are set as environment variables (as they should be!).
This is a super easy way to start working with MQTT for all sorts of projects.
The script we create in this video can easily be expanded and adapted for your needs. We will build on this script in future videos by adding something to put our incoming data into an SQLite database so that it is stored rather than only printed to the console.
