Adobe Illustrator CC Tutorial - Text Types

In this quick tutorial, I show you the main differences between using the Text Tool in the Area Type format and the Point Type format in Adobe Illustrator CC.

Typing in the Area Type format allows you to set the width and height of the text box, which can be adjusted without affecting the size of the text.

Typing in the Point Type format allows you to adjust the width and height of the actual text.

Both methods are useful, but it's important to know how to use each of them.
