MicroPython with ROBOTIS Engineer Kit
Previously, I was using Python on the PC and a TASK code on the CM-550 in a project combining OpenCV and PySerial to allow a SimpleArm robot to track a blue object via a webcam ( • OpenCV (Python) + PySerial Project with CM... ). In this demo, the new component is the use of MicroPython on the CM-550 (Firmware 5) and R+TASK V.3.1.0.2 (released along with ENGINEER Kit 2 on 4/27/2020). So from now on, users can use Python from the PC down to the CM-550 level. The MicroPython interpreter embedded engine is quite snappy, its performance is on par with the compiled TASK code so far in my experience.
