Chemical Thermodynamics 2.8 - Rotational Partition Function
Short physical chemistry lecture on rotational partition functions.
The energy levels of rotations of molecules are determined by the rigid rotor quantum mechanical model system. The partition function is determined primarily by the rotational termperature, theta. At temperatures far above theta, this partition function is very accurate.
