Day 3: OpenAPI Specification, REST API Security, and Management | REST API Design | Stack Learner
After completing the previous two lectures of the REST API Design Workshop, we have gained a clear understanding of many important concepts, including the significance of REST APIs, elements of scalable APIs, the six constraints of RESTful APIs, the API Maturity Model, partial responses, query parameters, the cache-control pattern, and API versioning techniques.
Our focus should not be limited to the design phase of REST API development. We must also pay close attention to API documentation. This serves not only to expedite knowledge transfer among team members but also to ensure that best practices are followed and that the API aligns with the organization's policies.
In this session, we will engage in hands-on practice to learn how to write API documentation following the Open API Specification. We will also delve into other crucial topics such as API security, threats and vulnerabilities, authentication mechanisms, and API management.
