Wouldn’t it be awesome to track the total number of tests executed, no matter who’s running them?
✅ That’s where the power of static variables comes in.
🌍 STATIC VARIABLE — ONE FOR ALL, ALL FOR ONE!
Inside our class, we’ve got:
public static int totalTestsExecuted = 0;
This variable is not tied to any one test case or object. It’s tied to the class itself.
Think of it as a global scoreboard.
Every time a test runs, it adds one to the board.
No matter who or where — every test plays into this single shared number.
🧠 Static means:
One copy only for the whole class

🛠️ STATIC METHOD — CHANGING THE GLOBAL COUNT
Let’s say you want to update the total test count every time a test is run.
We’ve got a method for that:
incrementTestCount()
And because this is a static method, we don’t need to create an object. We just call it directly using the class name or even just within the same class.
Every time this method is called, totalTestsExecuted goes up by 1.
