In this Firebase Cloud Function tutorial, we're going to be covering how to create a REST API. Firebase is an awesome tool, but if you try to handle everything on the client through their SDK's you'll run into code quality, performance, and data security issues. To mitigate these issues, you can use their Firebase Cloud Functions to create an API quickly.
In this tutorial, we'll be creating a user management API with full CRUD capabilities. You'll also learn how to connect your Firebase Functions to a Firestore database to persist your data. Keep in mind that this is the first part of the series. In part 2, we'll refactor our API to improve the code quality and maintainability.
