Configure Secure Shell Protocol (SSH) in Linux
Have you ever thought about how to remotely connect to your server?
We don't normally bother about the server if it is configured already.
You can do the following remotely on your server;
Starting, Restarting and Stopping your Server,
Installing new packages and apps,
Navigating through directories, etc.
In this video you will see how to configure SSH on Linux and access it remotely on any other operating system.
COMMANDS:
To Install SSH:
Debian:
sudo apt-get install openssh server
Fedora:
yam install openssh-server.
To check status:
service ssh status
To start:
service ssh start
To stop:
service ssh stop
To restart:
service ssh restart
To change default configurations:
nano /ect/ssh/sshd_config

WINDOWS COMMAND PROMPT
ssh username@ipaddress
PUTTY
Just enter the ip address and the port number.
The default port number is 22.
OTHER
Do proper configuration on your server in order not to allow attackers to easily access your files.
