The goal of this course is to create a working application and gain the necessary skills and experience in software development. Upon completion of this course, students should know the syntax and main libraries of the Java language, understand the object-oriented approach, and be able to decompose complex problems.
Skills gained:
• Basic language constructs, objects, and classes;
• Input and output in Java — console, file, network;
• Interfaces and abstract classes, anonymous classes;
• Lambda functions;
• Network communication, sockets;
• Exception mechanism;
• Checked and unchecked exceptions;
• Threads — life cycle, interruption;
• Critical section;
• Interaction issues (deadlock);
• wait/notify mechanism, blocking producer/consumer queues;
• collections, choosing a data structure suitable for the task;
• parameterized collections;
• parameterization in Java.
