How to Install MS SQL Server database appropriately
In this video I have demonstrated how to install MS SQL Server 2008 in PC with windows 8.1.Sometimes we faces problem in installing SQL Server. That’s why I have made this video.
Till now some new edition released after MS SQL Server 2008, but installation of almost all version is same.
Here I have mentioned the main steps:
1. Find application file in the software folder.
2. In every steps it will take some time to load , so don’t panic
3. In the planning tab different type’s installation info will be shown.
4. Click Installation tab then in the select first option : New SQL Server standalone installation or add features to an existing installation
5. Then in next window it will check all support setup rules, all rules will be passed then click OK,
Sometimes windows firewall status may be failed but it will not be a major problem in the installation.
6. Click next , next then agree license term and policy
7. Select all file those will be install, here you can customize installation process by uncheck some file which is not needed for you. But sometimes it create problem. So select all.
8. In installation configuration window: you will see two types of instance of SQL Server.
1. Default instance : by default instance name will be MSSQLSERVER
2. Named instance: By selecting named instance you can set your desires name of instance.
Here you will see the root directory of SQL Server instance
9. In the next window you will see disk uses summery.
10. In the server configuration you can set separate and password for different services. Best practice is use same account for all SQL Services
11. Select NT Authority\SYSTEM from Account Name
12. Most important , Database Engine configuration window : here select mixed mode for windows authentication and SQL authentication and set a easy password and add PC user
13. Analysis service configuration window : here add current user
14. Then click next, installation will be ready then click install, it will take approximately 20-30 minutes to install.
15. After successful installation it will show a successfully message in complete window
