Add menu items in android menu via xml code and handle via java code. Generally app settings, preference and other things are put in menu.xml as menu options. It’s the easiest way to add option menu. Using xml code you need to put the Menu name, icon under item tag. You can add as much as menu item needed for your app. Once you add the items in menu.xml now you need handle the click event of those items from your activity class with the method onOptionsItemSelected(MenuItem item). Remember to add the parameter as see ere. Otherwise it won’t work.
