So, it seems that many people often struggle with how to access Appdata which is a folder that contains settings and other data needed by programs installed on the computer.
In this video I’ll show you a couple of ways of how to find appdata folder on Windows 10
Method 1 -
This first method does not require you to change any Windows settings in order to be able to access the appdata folder, which is normally hidden.
If you are looking to permanently make the folder visible within file explorer, we’ll show you how to do that in the next method, so stick around.
First we’re going to right click on the start menu
Now click on run
Type %appdata% and then click OK
The appdata folder should now open.
You can use this same technique within file explorer, just type %appdata% in the address bar.
Method 2 -
By default the app data folder is hidden, so normally when you browse to your User folder, it won’t be there
This second method will require you to change a couple of Windows settings, but will result in you being able to permanently see it within your user folder.
In order to get the folder to show you must take the following actions
Open up file explorer by clicking here (or by right clicking on start and then choose file explorer)
Click on the view menu at the top of file explorer
Tick the ‘hidden items’ check box
Now click on This PC
Then browse to c:\Users\Your Username\
You can also get there by typing %UserProfile% into the file explorer address bar
You should now be able to see the Appdata folder
