In this HTML tutorial in Italian, we'll show you how to insert images into a website.
• img tag syntax
• src and alt attributes
• Image dimensions (via width - height - style)
• Floating images (via float)
📌 Syntax
Inserting images into a web page can improve the design and appearance of that page.
NB: #images are not technically inserted into a web page but are linked.
To embed an image in a web page, use the img tag with the following syntax:
img src="url" alt="alternatetext"
📌 The src and alt attributes
▶ The src attribute specifies the image path (url).
▶ The alt attribute provides alternative text for an image if the user cannot view it for some reason (due to a slow connection, an error in the src attribute, or the user is using a screen reader).
📌 Resizing an image
You can use the style attribute to resize an image and specify its width and height. Alternatively, you can use the width and height attributes.
NB: The width and height attributes always define the image's width and height in pixels.
📌 Floating Images
To make an image float to the right or left of text, use the float property:
▶ float:right → the image will float to the right of the text
▶ float:left → the image will float to the left of the text
