This is a test of a 0.35g ejection charge in my modified Go Devil 29. The charge was built inside a 0.170" ID clear tubing with an e-match and hot glue holding both ends closed. The charge blew out the side of the tubing, unlike my previous tests with a 0.2g charge for another 29mm rocket. The previous 0.2g charges blew out the hot glue on one end of the charge.
The charge, Kevlar recovery harness and chute were all packed in the nosecone, so things were tight. Between the charge and the snap at the end, the Kevlar broke near the body tube. I'll try something smaller next.
NOTE: I say it has a 3G engine in it, but it's not the actual engine. Don't put engines in your rockets during ground ejection tests. It has a CTI Pro29-3G engine case in the rocket along with a 1" 3d printed spacer that sits on the top of the engine that acts as a seal.
