Unity AR Foundations Augmented Reality XR Tutorial
In this tutorial video I show you how to get started with Augmented Reality cross platform development using the Unity Game Engine’s XR system. I go through the basics of how to set up an augmented reality app, how to get examples and resources to learn beyond this video, and how to do things like set up a testing environment, spawn objects onto an augmented reality scene and change their properties like scale and rotation, and set up a shooter game like collision in augmented reality. The actual testing where I show everything working is in a separate video on my channel if you’re interested in seeing the final results.

Steps:
Get AR foundations samples working on android so there are resources and examples to work with in a working project configured for android XR.
Developer options and usb debugging
Unity version I’m using: 2019.4
Download and update required packages (and android studio)
Remove ios code and code that generates build errors
Change the XR and android build settings
Test a simple scene build on Android
Set up a AR testing environment
AR camera setup
UI setup
Testing with mouse setup
Write AR code to interact with detected plans, scale, rotation, and instantiation into AR space
Spawning a simple object
Selecting different objects
Scaling selected object
Rotation
Build to android and test
