Fix AMD GPU Error code 43
If you are getting this error message on your AMD GPU, and the error reads. "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"
It seems the AMD Driver Installer is broken on Windows 10; it's not setting the correct registry values or registering the correct libraries.
Try these steps
Open Device Manager in Windows 10
Expand Display Adapters and right-click your GPU → Properties
Go to the Driver tab → click Uninstall Device
Check the box "Delete the driver software for this device" → confirm
Restart your PC — Windows will automatically roll back to the previously working driver
Once it's working again, disable automatic driver updates to prevent it from breaking again
If this doesn't work, run the AMD Cleanup Utility — it does a deep clean of all leftover AMD driver files that a normal uninstall misses. Corrupt or leftover files are often the real reason drivers cause issues in the first place. After running it, reinstall a stable older driver version from the AMD website, and you should be good to go.
