I've used Unity off and on for the past couple years, and I recently decided to pick it back up. This time, I've decided to make a more serious commitment and start following Unity's official junior programmer certification course, and see where it takes me.
Here we had a "sumo wrestling" style game, where the goal is to push the opponent out of the arena. I felt the most important part of this project was the introduction to physics materials and co-routines.
A physics material gives you extended control over the physics of your game object. And conveniently, they can be shared between different game objects. So here, the physics material was used to control how the player and the enemies bounced off each other.
On the other hand, co-routines are one way to handle parallel computing in Unity, which has many uses in modern game development. In this case, it was used to set a countdown timer that runs in the background which, when it reaches zero, disables the powerup.
