What is the difference between HTTP and HTTPS?

HTTP stands for HyperText Transfer Protocol.

HTTPS is HTTP + SSL.

The most important difference between HTTP & HTTPS is the SSL certificate.
SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer which is a cryptographic protocol designed to provide communication security over a computer network.

HTTPS is basically HTTP protocol with additional security.
