SCATTERING EFFECT
Raman Effect could explain why sky is blue. Sky is blue because the sunlight passing through the atmosphere and reaching earth mostly contains blue colour and also for reason, eyes detect more of blue light.
When a light beam is made to pass through a transparent chemical compound, the light gets scattered. He observed that most of the emergent light had similar wavelengths as that of incident light, while only a small fraction of scattered light has a different wavelength. This change in wavelength in scattered light is called Raman Effect
