In this video by Programming for Beginners we will learn Java Reflection with Examples in Java Programming, using Java Tutorial videos.
In Java, reflection allows us to inspect and manipulate classes, interfaces, constructors, methods, and fields at run time.
In order to reflect a Java class, we first need to create an object of Class.
1. Using .class extension
2. Using getClass() method
3. Using forName() method
For Classes:
getName() - returns the name of the class
getModifiers() - returns the access modifier of the class in integer form
getSuperclass() - returns the super class of the class
Use Method class for reflection of methods:
// create an object of Class
// using getClass()
Class obj = d1.getClass();
// using object of Class to
// get all the declared methods of Dog
Method[] methods = obj.getDeclaredMethods();
getName() - returns the name of a method
getModifiers() - returns the access modifier of methods in integer form
getReturnType() - returns the return type of methods
