If you have an electric vehicle, you gotta charge it, so you might as well stay safe when you do it.

First make sure your charging equipment has been tested and certified, and then have a qualified electrician complete the installation.

Before charging, always follow the manufacturer's instructions. Inspect the charger, and never use it if it's damaged. Extension cords are a no-no, only use manufacturer-approved charging cables. Make sure you have proper GFCI protection. Don’t alter or modify your charger, battery, or electric vehicle. And when not using, always remember to properly store your EV charger to avoid water and other damage.

When parking in a public EV charging spot, be aware of your surroundings so you don’t run into a charger.

Be smart and stay safe.
