Blender Beginners sometimes hit a snag when trying to group objects together. This is because "grouping objects" was eliminated when Blender moved from 2.79 to 2.8 and merged into something called COLLECTIONS.

So when you want to group some objects in Blender, you need to add them to a collection. Same rules apply, too, for example: You can HIDE the collection and all objects in the collection will disappear. It's easier to sync and link collections into other scenes too.
