This video updates the recommended programmer for projects that use the ATTiny85 MicroController (Cylon Eye, Battery Monitor, etc).
Previously I had recommended using the SparkFun Tiny AVR programmer. However, the driver seems problematic and I have had to re-install the Arduino IDE twice in the last 6 months ofuse.
I don't have time to troubleshoot drivers on such a device so I am now programming the ATTiny85 with an Arduino Uno. So far it has been flawless.
If you are not having any problems with the Sparkfun programmer, then I recommend continue using it. However, if you are having problems with the programmer being recognized by the Arduino IDE, then I recommend the Arduino Uno as shown in this update.
