Use SharePoint Document Libraries in Power Apps Code Apps

Power Apps Code Apps can now work with SharePoint document libraries, Dataverse, file uploads, and environment variables. In this practical walkthrough, we show you how to bridge two current platform gaps and build a smoother file experience without storing expensive document content in Dataverse.

We use a real estate app to demonstrate the full pattern: uploading property photos to a SharePoint library, linking each file to a Dataverse record, starring favourites, changing the sort order, and choosing a featured image. You’ll see how our custom connector files close the gap in Code Apps and support uploads, replacements, deletions, metadata, and downloadable file content.

We also explain the setup requirements, including Power Apps version 1.3 or later, a SharePoint connection, your site URL, and document library name. For deployment across environments, we show how a simple Dataverse config table can hold non-sensitive values such as a folder path, while calling out the security trade-offs and why secrets do not belong there.
