Between The Lines
The UK Government has wrongly weaponised refugees and people seeking asylum, denying the thousands who are fleeing conflict, violence and persecution the support and protection which are basic human rights, to push forward harmful new bills in parliament.
In an effort to cut through the deceptive and misleading mainstream news and media narrative, this Refugee Week, SHOWstudio and Nnick Knight invited Enver Solomon and Cora Corré from The Vivienne Foundation to explain the true realities of a broken asylum system in the UK. Our volunteer Mohanad shares his first-hand experiences and views as a refugee from Sudan, joining them to discuss the Government's dangerous Asylum Bill, how it treats children, and what the public can do to help.
