Description
IOT based home automation using Node MCU Microcontroller automates electrical devices using a NodeMCU microcontroller. The NodeMCU connects to the internet via WiFi and communicates with a mobile app, allowing users to control a 12V DC fan and two AC bulbs through a 4-channel relay module. The system supports real-time device status monitoring, scheduling, and notifications.
Objectives
• To implement the 4-channel relay module effectively to control a 12V DC fan and two AC bulbs, allowing for precise switching on and off these devices.
• To utilize the NodeMCU’s Wi-Fi capabilities to connect to the internet, enabling remote control of the devices via a mobile application.
• To develop a mobile application with a straightforward button interface that allows users to easily control the connected devices from their smartphones.
• To facilitate remote management of the 12V DC fan and AC bulbs through the mobile app, allowing users to operate the devices from any location with internet access.

Methodology
IOT based home automation using Node MCU Microcontroller has a 7805 voltage regulator which is used to step down this 12V input to a stable 5V output to power the system. The Node MCU, which comes with built-in Wi-Fi capabilities, connects to the internet and acts as the central control unit for the project. NodeMCU controls the 4 channel relay module, which functions as an electronic switch to manage the connected devices. The relay module is connected to a 12V DC fan and two AC bulbs allowing the NodeMCU to turn them on or off as needed. The system connects with a mobile application that features a button interface for remote control. When a user presses a button on the app, the corresponding relay channel is activated, thus turning ON or OFF that device (DC fan OR AC bulb). This setup allows users to manage their devices from anywhere with an internet connection. Many more features related to IOT can also be added.
