This is the first part of a video tutorial series about gnuplot, a free data visualization and plotting program. In this video I show how a basic plotting command looks in gnuplot and how you can quickly visualize the data from some measurement or simulation. I show how color and appearance of the datapoints can be changed and how analytic functions can be plotted. Then I change the output from the default wxt terminal to a png image file and save the plot. Finally, I show how errorbars can be included in the plot and how gnuplot can do calculations with the data provided.
