Contexts and Dependency Injection (CDI) is a Java EE technology that you may not be familiar with. It provides several benefits for developers including type-safe injection of dependencies, eventing, decorators/interceptors, and managing the scope and lifecycle of Java Beans. CDI has been called the Java "magic glue" because it allows different components in a server side Java application to easily interact with each other. Justin will briefly introduce CDI and demonstrate its capabilities in a sample application.
