Object Creation: List, ArrayList are the classes specifically belonging to java.util package (Library). Taking this as an example, List is a parent class of ArrayList. (This means ArrayList is the child class of List class). In Java, you can create an object of the child class and assign the same to the reference variable of the parent class. Reference variable of a parent class, in this case, will point to the child class object. And this parent-child class concept in Java is called 'Inheritance'.
