Welcome back to the fifth part of the Conditional format lesson.
Our mission is to highlight the duplicate values, then just extra duplicates.
To achieve that, we could use the COUNTIF formula.
We need to highlight all the properties located in Rome.
Start with the equal sign than the name of the formula.
Select the range.
Select the criterion.
Set the logic to make the formula return a true or false value.
Lock the range by adding the dollar sign.
Lock the column of the criterion.
To test the formula, drag it to the right, then down.
It should return TRUE to the whole row that has Rome.
Now, copy the formula.
Select the range.
Open the Conditional format sidebar.
Paste the formula.
And here is it.
To select just the extra duplicate, we change the range of the formula.
The range will be the cell itself.
Select Custom formula is, then paste the formula.
The first occurrence of Rome in the range doesn’t highlight.
It highlights just the extra duplicate.
