In this tutorial I help people wanting to get into iOS development build a very basic Flashlight App. I am hoping this will help people realize creating iOS applications is not as hard as they think. This is also a good way to get an introduction to Objective-C. If you are like me then you want to build something real and learn the theory as you go. That is why we are going to start by building a Flashlight App.

iOS (previously iPhone OS) is a handheld OS developed and circulated by Apple Inc.
Initially unveiled in 2007 for the iPhone, it is often expanded to aid other Apple devices like the Ipodtouch (September 2007), iPad (January 2010), iPad Mini (November 2012) and 2nd-generation Apple Television on (September 2010). Unlike Microsoft's Windows Phone and Google's Android, Apple will not license iOS for setup on non-Apple hardware.

As of October 2013, Apple's Appstore featured more than 1 million iOS programs, 500,000 which were optimized for iPad. These apps have collectively been downloaded over 60 billion occasions. It had a 2-1% share of the smart-phone mobile operating-system units sent in the fourth quarter of 2012, behind Google's Android. From the center of 2012, there were 410 million devices activated. Based On the particular media event held by Apple on September 12, 2012, 400-million devices have been sold by June 2012.

The graphical user interface of iOS is based on the theory of direct manipulation, utilizing multi-touch gestures. Interface control parts contain sliders, switches, and buttons.
