Revisiting the Lace Edge stitch and how to decrease for a shawl and how to add beads to the project.
Watch Part 1 here: • Lace Edge for Shawls and Scarves
Pattern:
NOTE: Cast on 10 stitches to start. You can choose any number higher
than 5.
Row 1: Slip 1st stitch with in front, Purl to end
Row 2: Slip 1st stitch with in front, Purl to end
Row 3: Slip 1st stitch with in front, Purl to last 4 stitches, Yarn Over (one
increase), Purl 2 together (one decrease), Yarn Over (one increase), Purl
one in Front and Back (2x)(2 increases) = total of 3 increases
Row 4: Bind Off 2 stitches purl wise, Purl to end. total = 2 decreases
If you keep repeating these 4 rows, you are going to increase one stitch
total every 4 rows ( 3 increases - 2 decreases = 1 increase.
In order to start decreasing to make the shawl edge slant the other way,
you have to decrease 2 more stitches, which I placed in row 4.
To start decrease, every row 4 do this: Bind off 2 stitches purl wise, Purl 2
together, Purl 2, Purl 2 together.
