What is the difference between REFLECTION, REFRACTION and DIFFRACTION?
The main difference between these terms can be seen in the wave's destination. For example, when we talk about reflection, a wave reaches a point, bounces off, and returns to the same place it started, as in the case of a bubble. Then there is refraction, in which the wave penetrates the point it reaches and changes its propagation speed. This is when its direction changes, as happens when something is placed in a glass of water. Finally, diffraction occurs when the wave hits a point that acts as an obstacle and is redirected in several directions at the same time, as occurs with light.
