🛠️ A small discovery that saved me a lot of time — sharing it for anyone scripting in Revit.

Like many of you, I've been diving deeper into Python automation for BIM workflows. And if you've used Dynamo for Python scripting, you know the frustration — errors show up as vague, hard-to-trace messages, and just opening Dynamo, pasting your code, and running it takes longer than it should.

I recently came across a free Revit add-in called RevitPythonShell — and it genuinely changed how I develop and debug scripts.

Here's why I love it:
✅ Opens instantly with one click
✅ Paste your code, run it, done
✅ Shows complete error messages — no more guessing what went wrong
✅ Much faster for testing and iteration

One thing worth knowing: RevitPythonShell and Dynamo use different API references, so when you're developing with an AI tool, make sure to tell it you're working in Python Shell. Once your code is tested and working, you can convert it for Dynamo and add it to your tool library.

I put together a short video showing exactly how it works 👇

If you're building Revit automation scripts, this is worth trying. Hope it helps someone!
