Welcome back, Educators.
We use the Treemap chart to show the data in hierarchical order. The size and color of the rectangles represent their value.
These are the orders that we've received.
To create a Treemap chart for this data, we need to reorder it.
we need to reorder it.
Then the first Child and its items, then the second Child and its items.
In the second column, beside the name of the child, we put the name of the parent.
Besides the name of the items, we put the name of the Child.
And finally, the value of each item.
The easiest way to achieve that is using the Pivot table.
Select the data, then click Pivot table.
For the Rows, select Item.
Add filter to show only the fruit.
Type Fruit.
In the Values section, add a Calculated Field.
Type this formula.
TEXTJOIN(" ",TRUE, UNIQUE(Type))
Select Custom.
Type Fruits & Vegetable.
The name of the Parent and Child is case-sensitive.
Add Quantity to the Values section.
Copy the Pivot table.
Paste it beneath the first one.
Add filter to show only the Vegetable.
Type Vegetable.
Select the data, then click Insert chart.
Select Treemap chart.
For the ID, select the first column.
For the Parent, select the second column.
For the Size, select the third column.
Deactivate the checkboxes.
Select the colors that you like.
Remove the chart title.
And here is it.
