I made Nicaraguan Picos or turnovers with the dough from scratch, but I know that a lot of you don't have the time to do it from scratch so I am showing you a second easier option.

Tips: The box recommends that you bake the pastry at 400℉ - 200℃, but I tried it and I burned the top of the pastry because from the time that you thaw the pastry to the time of baking the dough has reached almost room temperature and since the dough is butter-rich, it burns easily. So, you have two solutions.

One, once you have filled the turnovers, you can put them back into the fridge between 20 - 30 minutes while you are preheating the oven. Then, they go directly from the fridge to the oven as the box says.

Two, preheat the oven to 350℉ - 180℃ and bake them between 15 - 30 minutes until they are browned to your liking.
