Model complexity (ECE 592 Module 7A)
This module launches into a multi-module discussion of model complexity. Specifically, for parametric models, we aim to design the model class C as a function of the data length, N, and the number of parameters, K. This model class, C, can then be used by MDL for various statistical inference tasks, for example in machine learning. We end by describing some simple parametric models.
