Xcode's Git functionality isn't very intuitive, so for developers, every commit means alt-tabbing to a Git client or dropping into a terminal. Gitwyn fixes that. Press Command Shift E in any Xcode project and Git opens right there, on the project you're already in.

Gitwyn is a free Mac app that puts git on top of Xcode. It reads whichever project Xcode is showing you, so it never asks you to pick a repository, and it draws every diff in your own Xcode theme, so a diff looks like the file you were just editing.

macOS 26 or later, and Xcode. Gitwyn needs Accessibility permission to see which project Xcode has open, and Apple Intelligence for generated commit messages.
