This video demonstrates how to use the Copy Database Wizard to move and copy databases. We have discussed about certain limitations while using this wizard. In addition, we have discussed about limitations of various Data Transfer Methods, requirements for Copy Database Wizard. We have covered 2 below DEMOS.
DEMO : Copying a database to another instance using attach and detach method. We will move the DBCOPYTEST Database from a 2019 instance of SQL Server to a 2022 instance of SQL Server running on same box. DBCOPYTEST Database does not already exists on Instance 2022.
DEMO : Copying a database to same instance using attach and detach method. We will copy DBCOPYTEST database as DBCOPYTEST_DUPE on the same instance. Thereafter DBCOPYTEST_DUPE will be recreated on a weekly basis.
We also discussed about considerations after moving or copying databases, also talked about Full Text Indexes after DB upgrade and the Database Compatibility level.
